Application process (Application due July 1 and November 1):

*Please note: Though the deadlines are July 1 and November 1, it will behoove applicants to return the application materials as early as possible as the positions are first-come, first-served. The application process will close as soon as volunteer positions are filled. Also, the sooner the app is rec'd, the better the chances of obtaining the placement of your choice.

Once we receive your application packet (see below), the Executive Director will contact you to set up a time for a phone interview. Please make sure we have all of your pertinent contact information with dates of your availability at certain contact points (i.e. college address, phone, and e-mail until what date, summer contact info until what date, etc.).
 

Following your telephone interview, your application will be reviewed and voted on by our Board of Directors. You will then be notified of our decision.

If you are accepted by LSC, a copy of your application will be sent to your first choice of agencies. The agency will then contact you to set up a phone interview, unless you make arrangements to come interview in person in Omaha (coming to Omaha for interview is not required). If your first choice agency accepts you, you will be placed. If not, the same process will continue with your second and third choices until you are matched. We cannot guarantee you will be matched with your first choice, but it is very probable you will be matched with one of your top three choices.

Once you have been accepted  as a volunteer and been matched with an agency, you will receive a copy of the LSC House Covenant to review.
